Camouflage


 Everyone is aware of their appearance and the reactions of others to it. People have always used clothes, jewellery and cosmetics to alter or enhance areas of their bodies. Camouflage make up is no different. This can be a wonderful way to disguise a mark that we feel draws the onlookers attention and makes us feel uncomfortable.  The surgical treatments available are not a cure for birthmarks and often there is a trace of the birthmark remaining. 

Camouflage make up can also be used as an alternative to surgical treatments.

 

Cosmetic camouflage has much to offer. The British Association of Skin Camouflage, The Red Cross and the Skin Camouflage Network offer a skin camouflage service. There are several types of cosmetic creams on the market but the correct shade and type of cream requires help from a trained professional such as members of the organisations named above. Most are available on prescription.
