Nick Ward, Chairman, Birthmark Support Group, comments on Manic Street Preachers latest album cover

The Birthmark Support Group believe that the artwork depicting a child with a prominent birthmark on the Manic Street Preachers' latest release is inappropriate for an album entitled 'Journal for Plague Lovers'. We also believe that for a number of retailers to stock this album but insist that it has a slip cover so as not to disturb other customers is insulting to those who have such facial birthmarks.

Since making this statement the Birthmark Support Group understand that Tesco have reversed their decision to use slip covers over the album. We would urge other retailers to do the same.
