Fun Days

Birthmark Support Group Fun Days
The Drama Centre, Chigwell School, The High Road, Chigwell, Essex, IG7 6QF
27 September 2009
The Fun Day in Chigwell was the usual collection of formal and fun! The weather was beautiful. I have to say if it ever rains in Chigwell we never seem to see it.
Adults and children took advantage of the ever-busy refreshment stand to get a cooling drink. Parents sat around the outdoor tables to chat to old friends and make new friends.
The Bouncy Castle was in much demand, along with the giant versions of Connect 4 and Jenga. Tamsie the pony played her part well and all the future jockeys among us got to show off their skills. Marco the Clown did a wonderful job of thrilling the children and terrifying the adults! And the BBQ was very popular! Well done the Chefs! After lunch, when the food had digested, there was swimming in the school pool.
The formal AGM went off without a hitch and we are happy to report that the Committee has been re-elected for another year. Nick Ward, the Chairman, underlined our frequent requests for volunteers and if you feel you can spare anytime please do get in touch with any member of the Committee. No matter how little time you have to spare we are happy to talk about how we can make sure your time is well spent. We are also actively seeking a new Chair and Treasurer, so if you would like to know more the please email chairman@birthmarksupportgroup.org.uk
The possibility of producing another DVD, specifically aimed at Primary Schools was mentioned. This is something that we have had many requests for and feel it is a very worthwhile cause. As a result a busy year of fundraising must follow as this project will impact our bank balance significantly.
We have a long thank you list whenever we host an event like this, below are just some of the people we would like to thank, as they provided their services for free so the least we can do is provide a little free advertisement for them.
