Manchester High School for Girls, Grangethorpe Road, Manchester, M14 6HS

The very poor weather forecast for Manchester no doubt deterred some from attending our Fun Day at Manchester Girls High School but although surrounded at times by dark clouds it remained fine all day and all those present seemed to enjoy themselves.  Thanks to all those who made the trip. We hope you had a lovely day.

We were again grateful to the Headmistress and staff for allowing us to use their fine facilities, including indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, all-weather play area and a whole host of games and play equipment. As usual, the bouncy castle proved to be a popular attraction for both young, and not so young! Particular thanks must go to Kathryn Evans and the Assistant Bursar, Linda Kenyon, for their help with the organisation, to Linda's husband Jim for taking charge of the barbecue and also to John and Terry for all their support.

We are most grateful to Marni and Nancy from Clinique at John Lewis and Liz Hawkins from the British Association of Skin Camouflage, who brought along samples of their products and gave helpful advice to members. Sister Jane Linward and Dr Samira Syed both made the journey from Great Ormond Street Hospital to be with us and as ever their attendance was greatly appreciated
