The Birthmark Support Group DVDThe Birthmark Support Group has produced a DVD to support its aim of raising the awareness of birthmarks amongst the public generally and the medical profession in particular. It contains 3 professionally produced films, one aimed at the medical profession, one as a resource for secondary schools and one for general information, particularly for parents of new babies with birthmarks. The films are presented by broadcaster Paul Heiney and include contributions from our patron, Esther Rantzen. The DVD is accompanied by an explanatory brochure. A 5 minute sample of the general information film has been placed on You Tube. Click on the following link to play an extract from the DVD Thanks to the fantastic efforts of many of our supporters, the BSG has achieved its goal of producing and distributing the DVD to all GPs, Paediatricians, Dermatologists, Secondary Schools, Maternity units and Medical Schools in the UK. What's more, it received an award at the 2008 East of England Film Festival for the best documentary which has not been made specifically for broadcasting. The distribution and award has raised the profile of the DVD and we now receive regular requests for further copies from professionals and the public alike. The DVDs are manufactured, packaged and distributed free of charge, however we do suggest a donation of £5 to cover the costs and raise additional funding for the group. If you are a UK tax payer an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you by using the Gift Aid Scheme.
